How to Prepare for the Sleep Study

1. Take a shower and wash your hair just prior to the study. Do not use any hair products (gel, hairspray etc.)
2. Do not wear cosmetics or use any creams/lotions on your skin.
3. Bring appropriate clothing to wear to bed preferably loose fitting clothes with buttons.
4. Bring any medications that you may need for the evening or the next morning. Also bring a written list of your current medications.
5. Do not bring any medications which may cause drowsiness before you are hooked up for the sleep study ( you may take it later, after you are hooked up).
6. Do not consume any caffeine after noon on the day of the study.
7. If you are a CPAP or BiPAP user, please bring your mask with you.
8. Bring reading material if you desire.
9. You may bring your own pillow if you wish, although this is not required.
10. Please avoid wearing jewelry.
11. Please leave your cell phone at home or in your car as we need to limit outside distraction as much as possible.
